Connect over SSH
Use an existing compatible server as a Macaron computer.
Check the connection
Prepare the server and authenticate using your existing SSH keys. Confirm the hostname, user and port before adding it to Macaron. Test the connection in a terminal on your device; replace these example values with your server details.
ssh -p 22 ubuntu@dev.example.comAdd the computer
Choose Add Computer, select Cloud, and enter a computer name, SSH hostname, SSH user and SSH port. This option connects your existing compatible workspace. It does not create a server or change your provider billing.
Work on the remote checkout
Select the remote computer before adding a project or opening a terminal. Install the project dependencies and authenticate the coding agent on the computer that runs it. Files edited there belong to the remote checkout; commit and push them from that checkout when you want to share them.
Connection problems
If SSH fails, check the hostname, port, account, key and server availability with the same terminal command. Resolve host-key changes with your server provider before reconnecting. If a command works locally but fails remotely, check the tools and environment installed on the remote computer.
